Getting Here
Hotel Engelhard sits directly on U.S. Highway 264 as it threads through Hyde County between Swan Quarter and the coast. From Greenville or Washington, follow U.S. 264 east — the drive runs along the top of the Pamlico Sound and through some of the quietest country in the state.
Coming from the Outer Banks, Manteo is only about an hour away, and the Swan Quarter to Ocracoke ferry lands you a short drive down the road. However you arrive, the last few miles are flat, open and beautiful — keep an eye on the sky for hawks and, in winter, swans.
