Work Crews &
Long Stays
If you're on a job in Hyde County — a road crew, a line crew, a contractor, a surveyor, a seafood- or farm-season worker — you need a clean, affordable bed, parking for the truck, and breakfast before the shift. That's the whole idea here.
An honest rate,
an early start
Out here, lodging is scarce and per-diem stretches thin at a beach hotel an hour away. We're right on U.S. 264 in the middle of the county — close to the work, easy to bill, and a fraction of the Outer Banks rate.
Crews come back to us because the basics are right: a clean, quiet room, fast Wi-Fi, free parking with room for trucks and trailers, an early breakfast, and a real person at the desk who'll work with your schedule. Staying a week or more? Call and ask about a longer-stay rate.

Close to the work
We sit right on U.S. 264, about as central as you can get in Hyde County. For most jobs out here — out toward the ferry, up by the lake, or somewhere down a farm road — we're a short drive from the site, not an hour each way. Crews that try to bill a beach hotel an hour east end up burning the workday in the truck and the per diem on a fancy room. We're the plain, honest version closer to the job. The rooms are simple and clean, the rate is fair, and it lines up with what most per diems are built to cover. If you're not sure we're close enough to where you're working, call the front desk and tell us where the site is — we know the roads.
What crews need
We've put up a lot of working folks over the years, so we know the short list. A clean, quiet room you can actually sleep in. Free parking with room for the truck, the trailer, and the boat — no squeezing into a city lot. Free Wi-Fi that's quick enough to file the day's paperwork, log hours, or send photos back to the office before you turn in. A hot breakfast in the morning so you're fed before the early start, plus pizza and wings from our kitchen in the evening if you roll in after everything else has closed. Flexible hours and a real person at the desk, not an app — if you're getting in late or leaving before dawn, just tell us and we'll make it work.
Staying a while
If the job runs a week, a month, or longer, give us a call and ask about weekly and extended-stay rates. We won't quote a number here because it depends on the room, the season, and how long you're with us — but we work with crews and long-stay guests all the time and we'll sort out something fair. For the longer-haul details, see our extended-stays page, and if you want a sense of the kinds of work that bring people to Hyde County, read about projects nearby.
The simplest way to set anything up is to call the front desk at (252) 925-2001 — tell us the dates, the size of the crew, and what your company needs on the paperwork side. You can also start a booking and we'll take it from there.

We don’t go in for fancy — but year after year, hunters, work crews, ferry travelers and road-trippers leave saying the same things: clean rooms, a warm welcome, and a breakfast that surprises them.
Home sweet home. Great spot, clean and comfortable rooms — my home away from home. Feels like you're in your own house, and a great place to kick back and relax. Folks here look after one another. Going to Hyde County? This is your spot.
Budget stay, good pizza. You can save a lot on your hunting or fishing trip and get a $10 thin-crust pizza served by super-nice local folks. Convenient to Lake Mattamuskeet and all the region's parks and wildlife refuges.
Wonderful hotel, lovely staff! I loved this hotel! If I could give it 10 stars I would. We stayed in a very quaint room that had everything we needed and nothing more, and we felt at home the entire time. Great staff — stay here!
A diamond in the rough. A charming throwback of a hotel. The owner was extremely personable and offered help several times. It was clean, cozy and enjoyable — and I love being able to use a local business over a chain. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
A life-saver on the road. This sure beats driving fifty more miles to Manteo for lodging. The room and bathroom were clean, the linens were clean and the heater worked great. Reserve ahead if you're staying in the Engelhard area.
A simple hotel with a warm welcome. Some of the nicest owners I've ever met — welcoming, inviting and very knowledgeable about the area. The hotel is simple, and they take great pride in keeping it very clean. A wonderful place to stay.
