Weekly & Extended Stays
Settling in for a week or a month on a job in Hyde County — the rooms, the parking, the breakfast, and how to set up a longer-stay rate.
In short
If a job has you in Hyde County for a week or a month, we set up weekly and extended-stay rates for crews and long-stay guests all the time — call the front desk and we'll work it out.
Settling in for a stretch is different from a one-night stop, and we treat it that way. The rooms here are simple, clean, and quiet — a real bed, A/C and heat that you control, free Wi-Fi, and free parking with room for the work truck and trailer right outside. Nothing fancy, but it's the kind of room you can come back to tired and actually rest in, night after night, without something nagging at you.
Setting up a weekly or extended rate
The first thing to do is call the front desk and tell us your dates. We won't post a number, because the right rate depends on the room, the time of year, and how long you'll be with us — but we do this often, and we'll land on something fair for a long stay. Tell us if it's just you or a crew, and whether the dates are firm or might run over. We'd rather know up front than re-juggle rooms later.
Crews and long-stay guests should always call ahead. Phone the front desk at (252) 925-2001 before you arrive so we can hold the right rooms, set the rate, and have the parking sorted for trucks and trailers.
Paperwork and per diem
There's a real person at the desk, not a kiosk, so receipts are straightforward. If your company needs the invoice itemized a certain way, the dates broken out, or anything specific for a per-diem or reimbursement file, just tell us what they want and we'll do our best to match it. It's a lot easier to get it right the first time than to fix it after you've left.
Food after a shift
One of the quiet upsides of staying here is not having to drive somewhere for food when you're beat. We cook a hot breakfast every morning — grits, eggs, bacon, muffins, oatmeal — and it's cheap, a few dollars, so you're fed before an early start. In the evening our kitchen runs pizza and wings from 5 to 9, including a $10 thin-crust pizza, which is handy when you get in after everything else around here has closed.
Honest notes
We're a small rural inn, so be straight with us about what you need and we'll be straight about what we can do. If laundry matters for a long stay, ask the front desk — we'll tell you what we can arrange and what's available locally. Engelhard is a small place and services nearby are limited, so it's worth asking before you assume something's around the corner. See the rooms for what each one includes, get a feel for the kinds of work that bring crews out here, and check the FAQ for the practical questions. When you're ready, call us or start a booking and we'll set up the long stay.
The only hotel in Engelhard — and the closest bed to the ferry, the lake and the work. Call the front desk and we'll hold a room for your dates.
